PixelFest is just over a week away! In preparation for the Game Jam, the team threw together a little practice ‘Pre-Jam’ a few weeks back.
We were excited to have a decent turnout considering it was put together in just a week. About 15 people, mostly ODU and Norfolk Collegiate students, joined us for a quick Unity Bootcamp and afternoon long Game Jam.
We were blown away. In a mere three hours, all four teams were able to build playable video games!
The theme of the jam was Slover Library itself. In one game, players had to climb their way to the top of the library. In another, players actually played as a book jumping from shelf to shelf. Pictured in the projector above is a very meta 3d reproduction of room in which we were jamming!
Big thanks to members of the Monarch Game Design Club for making it out and Slover Library for allowing us to use such a beautiful space.
